UPDATE:

On Friday, October 22, 2021, at around 10:00 AM, YCSO investigators arrested another juvenile involved in this case. The juvenile was booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.

The investigation remains ongoing

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office received a call about an armed robbery on Wednesday October 20th 2021 around 4 in the morning. It happened at a Chevron gas station at 10747 S. Fortuna Road.

When deputies got to the scene, they were told there was three suspects who came into the gas station. One walked in while pointing the hand gun at the register, but the suspect didn't know James Kilcer was standing right there. Kilcer disarmed the suspect, while the other two fled the scene. (video below)

When Killcer was asked to talk about what happened, and why he went out of his way to stop the suspect. Kilcer resounded to YCSO saying, "The Marine Corp taught me not to [mess] around.”

The suspect was then arrested, and the other two got away from the scene once Kilcer disarmed the suspect. The attempted robber was booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault.

Here's the kicker, YSCO told YumaDailyNews "Because the suspect with the handgun was a minor, his information can not be told at this time".

This case is still under investigation and no one was hurt.
