YUMA -- Police in Yuma have found the man responsible for assaulting a 89-year-old woman  with a brick, a cane, and a sewing machine.

Around 5:00 pm police got a call about an assault that happened at Rose’s Alterations. 72-year-old James Oakley, threw a brick through the front window of Rose’s Alterations and entered the business. Once inside, he assaulted the 89-year-old female with a brick, a cane, and a sewing machine.

Oakley left the store leaving the elder woman inside.

Police then found Oakley in the same area in a trailer behind the business. It appears he had started a fire, and when smoke was seen, officers took him out of the trailer.

Oakley was then taken to a local hospital in stable condition. The elder woman was also taken to a local hospital and is awaiting medical clearance, says police.
